I made a ton of mincemeat and stupidly put it all in the same kilner jar so I'm going to have to use it all at once Hmm

I'm going to attempt my own pastry and I recon I'll probably have enough to make 100 pies.. Yum!

Should I freeze raw or cooked ?

Could I freeze half my mincemeat rather than use it all in one go ?

I made a freezer mincemeat one year, that was kept in the freezer, and I just took out what I needed at the time.
It did not freeze solid, so was easy to remove. So you should be able to freeze it.

does mincemeat not last for ages? i would freeze pies part cooked then you can finish them off when you need them

Make the pies up ready, then freeze raw. If you cook then freeze, they dry out.

I have had this on my to do list all month. I must do it next week, it saves so much time in that mad few weeks before Christmas.

I do Nigella's pastry in a food processor, tis delish and very easy.

I should say they dry out because you are reheating them, iyswim. Not that problem if they are raw and therefore only cooked once.
