Am excited about Christmas for no reason I can see!

I am ridiculously excited about Christmas already, more so than usual. I really don't know why. Confused

It may be because oldest DD is 15 in January so I'm wanting to really enjoy it while the girls are still wanting to be at home with us. It may be because I've had a rubbish year and I need some fun so I can move on to a happier time. I should have had a new baby by now but it didn't work out, so it could end up being horribly sad - I think I am looking forward to it so much as a kind of antidote to feeling depressed about it, if that makes sense.

Anyway, to help me focus on what I am actually excited about (!), and to give me loads of ideas to keep me on the happy side of life, let me know the things you really look forward to and enjoy about Christmas. Thanks!

Christmas Breakfast - bollox to all the 'salmon and poached egg on rye' crap - in our house you have two choices:

  1. Chocolate - usually reindeer shaped.
  2. Toast.

Me and dh don't drink apart from a few times a year. Opening the pink fizzy stuff at 10am on Christmas Day is one of those times. We find sipping all most of the day makes us all giggly and happy. We stop around 6pm as by then dd is all tired and snuggly, so we will watch dvds by candlelight all cuddled up in a fleece on the sofa still pissed.

I love the bemused look on dh's face as he tries to work out what the bleeding hell it is he has just unwrapped. Grin I must have very odd gift giving tastes, but he never complains, because if he did I would remind him of the year he bought all my presents 2 days before Christmas from the frigging garden centre. He did try, but he ended up with a load of old tat and I was not impressed. We laugh about it now tee hee... Hmm Grin

I have a traditional Christmas bath with Lush Christmas bath stuff and a face mask etc in the late afternoon before settling down to play with dd's presents with her, nibbling from 'buffet' tea and so on.

We do sarnies (smoked salmon does feature om nom nom) crisps, veggie saussie rolls, pretzels, cake, buns, fruit, berries etc etc. We always have way too much but usually don't have to cook any lunch until new year! Grin
