Can anyone help me???

I brought the Boots Ale set for a family friend for Christmas. Unfortunately we wont be seeing them and it is far too heavy to post and so I want to get something much lighter.

I have looked on the Boots website for their refund policy and it says food items can not be returned/exchanged. Does this count as a food item?

On other websites (eg M&S, Debenhams etc) they state "food and wine".

Does anyone know if I stand a chance of getting an exchange or refund??

I reckon you would get an echange at least.

They probably mean they won't refund a sandwhich. But an entire Ale set shouldn't be a problem.

UPDATE: I phoned Boots customer services who said alcohol could be returned and I was given a reference number in case of any difficulties.
Went to the shop and the manager refused until I told them I had spoken to head office and had a reference number.

Am very pleased!!
