Where do you hide your children's christmas presents?

DD has just found one of her christmas presents Shock Hmm

I hadn't hidden it all that well to be fair - it was in the blanket box in our bedroom. I need a better hiding place! The problem is our house is small and hiding places are few and far between...

They're in the loft this year; my 'present box' lives in the top of the wardrobe in my/DH's bedroom but I decided that wrapped up presents, plus those for our two DDs would be safer in the loft as I have a habit of getting things ot of our wardrobe and getting sidetracked.

taffetacat · 12/11/2010 21:17

Most in DH's cupboard at the back

One in loft

One in under stairs cupboard

whomovedmychocolate · 12/11/2010 21:17

In the present cupboard of course. Hmm

MollieO · 12/11/2010 21:26

wmmc do you have a boot room and a flower arranging room too? Grin

mummynoseynora · 12/11/2010 21:35

ours are just in piles in our bedroom - cleverly draped with clothes Confused I think this is the last year we will get away with this!!

whomovedmychocolate · 12/11/2010 21:37

We do not arrange flowers, the florist does that Hmm

Boot room - um no but we do have a boot box, boot stalks and hooks for waders and sticks.

MollieO · 12/11/2010 21:48

I was just wondering if you are Martha Stewart - she has a florist in her flower arranging room (of course!).

taffetacat · 12/11/2010 21:53

Martha Stewart has a good record of stashing things away

whomovedmychocolate · 12/11/2010 22:00

  • I have no undeclared taxable income though. Wink

I only have a present cupboard because it's unfeasible to put anything else in it (it's a hollow settle) - it had a cushion on it - no-one else is aware it's a cupboard. It's fab!

NorbertDentressangle · 13/11/2010 09:12

Who is it (in sleb world) that has a present wrapping room?

I've read it somewhere and its bugging me now.

IIRC its Lionel Ritchie.

ninedragons · 13/11/2010 09:23

It's Tori Spelling's parents.

I am going to go and bang my head on the bathroom wall now, to punish it for being full of such shite.

NorbertDentressangle · 13/11/2010 09:34

lol ninedragons, I know what you mean. I did think twice about admitting that I had read (and remembered) such trivial crap

Manda25 · 13/11/2010 10:34

Boot of the cars

HeyheyItsSaturday · 13/11/2010 10:36

In the top of the wardrobe.
Even I can't get up there without a chair so DD wouldn't be able to reach even on one.

TheNextMrsDepp · 13/11/2010 10:42

WMMC - I also have a present cupboard! No blooming space to wrap the damned things though.

My dcs show a singular lack of interest in hunting out their presents, even though they know where the cupboard is. Friends of mine can't put ANYTHING wrapped under the tree til Christmas Day or it will get opened.

BudaisintheZONE · 13/11/2010 10:51

Top of wardrobe in hall behind the usual tat that lives there.

DS is 9 now and is not sure whether to still believe in Father Christmas this year. So he is testing the system. Won't tell me what he would like. Hasn't done a letter to FC yet. Has asked who gets the letter, me or FC to which I asked why on earth I would want it. I think he may secretly write it and leave it to see what happens!

whomovedmychocolate · 13/11/2010 11:00

I wrap mine on the ironing table, it's big, stable and no-one comes near when they think I'm about to iron!

TheLogLady · 13/11/2010 11:04

in the car boot. under quite a lot of rubbish.

blueberryjam · 13/11/2010 15:58

This year it's all going in the loft as ds1 found half of his last year !!

mogs0 · 13/11/2010 16:27

I keep my room as untidy as possible so, if ds comes in, he passes any semi-hidden presents without realising!

He doesn't get the opportunity to go searching for presents and I'm not sure it'd even occur to him to do so Grin.

I think some are in the fitted wardrobe in his room but, again, it's so messy he'd never be able to get to the door to open it Grin.

TheNextMrsDepp · 13/11/2010 18:53

Be careful on the loft storage; we put all the stockings in the loft all wrapped and reeady a couple of days before Christmas, but the mice got into them and ate all the chocolate coins!!

Luckily we spotted it before hanging out the stockings as I don't think the dcs would have been impressed by a pile of shredded foil!

DontCallMeBaby · 13/11/2010 18:57

What I've got so far is stashed in DH's wardrobe - last year it was all in the 'spare' wardrobe in DD's room (she has two fitted wardrobes, one is actually hers, the other is full of random space) which gave me a little thrill of 'ha ha, your presents are hidden in YOUR OWN ROOM and you have NO IDEA'.

RunAwayWife · 13/11/2010 19:15

I have a floored loft so as I get things I take them up in to the loft, wrap them up and put them in to the Christmas sacks, not just the kids but everyones.
I also (really sad) have different wrapping paper for each person..

Tikkabillajive · 13/11/2010 19:22

In my wardrobe but until recently they were in a big pile by my bed and no one noticed!

muminthecity · 13/11/2010 19:36

In the big cupboard in my bedroom which has a lock on it, or on top of DD's wardrobe.
