M&S usually do lovely different designs but they looked a bit dull this year....saw some fab spotty stuff in WHSmith, so might get both colours of that.

Any inspriration?

I bought mine from Oxfam last year, because it was recycled and recyclable - as most Christmas wrapping paper isn't, which surprised me.

I really like the Ikea range, each year they have some lovely choices.

Scuttlebutter · 07/11/2010 22:16

got ours in Ikea. Cheap and pretty. Another job done. Smile

BelligerentGhoul · 07/11/2010 22:20

I got some lovely paper in Paperchase last year and in previous years I've either bought brown paper or plain birthday paper rolls. Also sometimes got it in Boots or Smiths.

This year I haven't yet seen anything that I like so I may do brown paper again. It can be recycled then as well.

blametheparents · 07/11/2010 22:23

I normally go for M&S on a 3 for 2 deal cos it is nice quality paper and I have always found nice designs, but I see you are not keen on the selection this year.
Phoenix have lovely papers generally, if you have a Phoenix trader that you know.

escape · 07/11/2010 22:31

I like and have used Phoenix paper for the past 4 years - but really can't justify cost despite quality, when there are so many value offers on elsewhere, and like my kids care anyway!

CherryRocketMonster · 07/11/2010 22:47

i am buying mine in sainsburys. £1.99 a roll for plain silver paper, on 3 for 2 offer

selby · 08/11/2010 00:34

Paperchase (in the previous Jan sale!)

Bucharest · 08/11/2010 06:46

My favourite subject! Grin

I'm also underwhelmed by M and S this year (and some of it was hit and miss last year too)I'll probably still get some from there though, but not all.

I've so far got a roll of the Cox and Cox Scandi reindeers, some of the Lakeland looks nice, as does the Emma Bridgewater.

Am off to google Phoenix now!

Saltire · 08/11/2010 09:31

I have 10 rolls of Boots stuff I got in their sale at the start of the year. Also 2 big rolls which were 2 for £3 in Wilkinsons, for the Dses stuff

thighsmadeofcheddar · 08/11/2010 10:45

Yes M&S very average this year, usually love it.

Got the Ikea ones this year, navy, silver and red designs.

fabulousfrancesca · 08/11/2010 14:21

I got mine in oxfam. They had last years stock reduced so I got a couple of rolls of that.

nagynolonger · 08/11/2010 14:55

I seem to have lots from other years......woolies probably! I will most likely by a few nice sheets for wrapping adults presents. DS won't care what it's wrapped in, and I don't take colour coordiation as far as the gifts under the tree.

nagynolonger · 08/11/2010 14:56

DSis did all of hers in brown paper and red ribbons last year.

nagynolonger · 08/11/2010 14:57

buy....not by.

HeadFairy · 08/11/2010 14:59

nagy, that's always been my trick, looks fab with tartan ribbon too. This year I'm buying from ds's school because they get cashback for the school.

nagynolonger · 08/11/2010 15:04

Yes it did look great, and I kept all the paper to re-use it. I gave DSis the ribbon back....no use for that in a house full of boys.

BelligerentGhoul · 08/11/2010 18:08

Brown paper and white ribbons can look really nice too.

I quite fancy Tiffany blue with silver ribbons and tiny silver bells, or plain white with white feathers and white ribbons but haven't really seen anything I like yet.

Guitargirl · 08/11/2010 19:08

Have bought DD Hello Kitty and DS Thomas both from Toys R Us.

Adults - I bought a job lot of Christmas tissue paper from Cox and Cox in the sale after Christmas about 3 years ago which is still going strong! Here

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2010 21:13

JL bought today very nice and lovely ribbons etc too.

hophophippidtyhop · 08/11/2010 21:16

John Lewis has some nice ones.

PatriciaHolm · 08/11/2010 21:56

Phoenix trading here - I've given up on cheap stuff after too many swearing sessions in previous years!

2madboys · 08/11/2010 22:06

Phoenix for me too - because I sell it!

flier · 09/11/2010 14:15

Phoenix trader here too Smile I love the phoenix paper because it has guidelines on the back for cutting. (why can i never cut in a straight line with "normal" paper I'll never know) Grin
