Can anyone recommend a ham?

We are having lots of people over for cold buffet and I thought it might be nice to order an entire ham from some posh online company. Also a pork pie and other pig-related produce.

Can anyone recommend a good company?

(Also, does anyone know if the Cropwell Bishop Creamery is any good? Because I'm about to order one of their Stiltons).

TIA.

Hi Trubert! I always do my own ham, it is so simple and much cheaper than buying ready made. I buy a 'corner joint' from the butcher, they can be upto 2.5 kg wieght.
Just cover with tinfoil, bake for about 2/2.5hours, take off tinfoil and smother in whatever you've got in your cupboard to make a glaze. I use mustard and brown sugar mixed together, honey is good and stud cloves in for a great flavour ( my dd doesn't like these though!)Then bake for about another 20/30 minutes and that's it. Eat hot or cold, delicious and not expensive.
Cropwell Bishop Creamery is very good. We live in Nottinghamshire and any of the Vale of Belvoir Stiltons are superb.
Best pork pies come from Dickens and Morris in Melton Mowbray .
Hope everything goes well!
