Which computer / ds for a 5yo dd?

We're not sure what to get for dd, but think she'd like something techy! Is she too young for a computer? What other age-appropriate computer-like toys are there? A nintendo ds?

i am buying ds lites for my girls (5 and 4) because they love playing on their older brothers ones. other ideas would be v-smile or the like. btw i am getting pre-owned ds lites from gamestation- £55 and with a years guarantee.

dd has a laptop and a ds... she navigates the laptop very well and knows how to go to favourites and picks either cbeebies, nick jr or disney channel fun and games... that is all she uses it for right now but i see it as a good investment for when she starts doin homework at school, dd is 5 now but has had the laptop since she was about 3 and a half

the ds novelty wore off quicker than the laptop but she still has periods during which she loves playing on it
