When do you make the cake?

Am eyeing up Delia's creole cake recipe for this year, but am being a bit early do you think?

Last year I did it mid-December as a panic, but want to do it 'right' this year.

So, when do you all do your cakes? And do you just wrap them up and feed them alcohol once a week? Or will it dry out and taste stale by Christmas if I make it now?

I'm starting mine today. I'm doing Delia's for the teachers at school (going to cut it up and make small ones each decorated individually) and for family and us this one

Though I fear I should have started it in September!

I shall have to get a bit of a move one!

I made mine 2 weeks ago. I usually intend to do it as soon as the dcs go back in Sept but don't get around to it until October.

That's for the Boozy Fruit. But I reckon it'll be fine, and it looks lovely!
