DSi games advice please

DS will be almost 7 at Christmas and has asked for a DSi. We will get him a couple of games with it but would be grateful for any advice from those with children around the same age about the games which are big hits (or misses).

Mario Kart.

Super Mario.

Agree with teh MArio games; ds2 also loved My Simms Agent at that age too.

Pokemond as well, mine adore it (aged 7, 9 and 10). They also love drawn to life 1 and 2, and scribblenauts.

You can't go wrong with Mario.

Lego Starwars is very good too.

Thanks so much everyone. Can I ask which Mario please? We have Mario Kart for the Wii but is there a good platform game for the DS? Also, one of the offers we've seen has a free game which is Lego Harry Potter - would that be OK do you think or a bit too old? The other free game choice was the Toy Story 3 game. Has anyone tried that and would you rate it?

my ds is 7 and ADORES the lego games - lego star wars, lego batman, lego indiana jones all big hits here.

Another vote for Mario

My 6 year old loves all the lego games and all the Mario ones - can't go wrong I don't think. Mario ones = Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, Bowser's Inside Story, Yoshi's Island etc.

Obviously Mario, however I bought my husband friend "band hero" for the DS, which is surprisingly really really cool!

Mario games and lego games. Can't go wrong with these for starters...
