I like this xmas tree one but not at that price.

any ideas where to buy similar but cheaper.

please no suggestions for making them / buying a kit - i really don't know one end of a needle from the other - and quite happy not knowing too Grin

thanks

How about this

IMoveTheStars · 30/09/2010 14:30

more ebay but they're not particularly cheap!

OhCobblers · 30/09/2010 14:36

thank you.
some good ones there but i'd need to fill the pockets for 2 kids and the cheaper one i like doesn't look big enough.
can't believe i didn't think to look at Ebay.
typically the one i like is Gisela Graham - thats why its expensive!

it is really nice though.. think of all the money you'd save over the year not buying the chocolate ones :)

OhCobblers · 01/10/2010 20:58

still can't bring myself to spend £27 on an advent calendar so just incase anyone else has a bright idea?!

Our one came from M&S last year and was £9.99 with balls :) Was a plain green fabric tree.

netto have had nice ones for the last few years for £5. Not sure if they have had them in yet, probably a bit early.

Rockbird · 01/10/2010 21:03

Meant to add, I saw it at least two years running, they're bound to have it again.

I have a fabric reuseable one from GLTC. I bought it 10 years ago and it cost about £25 so £2.50 a year so far. Its a christmas scene so every day you add a bit to the scene which is nice. Some years I put a chocolate in the pocket too!!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 03/10/2010 20:26

i have one like you linked in the op, but my auntie made it for me when i was 2, now my dcs use it.

it has little pockets but mine alternate days, so ds odd, dd even, they always end up with choc ones from family so it doesnt worry them taking it in turns.

cherrymonster · 03/10/2010 21:08

i have a fabric one that was handmade and quilted by my nan. means all the more this year as its gonna be the first christmas without her

I have a wooden christmas tree advent calendar one with 24 little drawers at the bottom which I got from Costco 3 years ago for around £25-28 I think.

It's worth it as the drawers have little tree decorations which the kids can hang on the calendar and every year, I just put a little chocolate egg in with the decorations for my girls. They really love it and take it in turns to hand the decs.
