Does the stuff come built or is the idea that they build it from scratch?

This says from age 5 but I don't think a 5 year old would be able to build that from scrath.

If it's more like playmobil that comes basically constructed then it will be OK.

You'll have to build it from scratch, the instructions are pretty good though.

They can be a bit fiddly, but my 4 year old can cope with the basic things.

Are the instructions clear, colour pictures cos DS can't read.

Yes, the instuctions are fine, although, tbh your DC may need help.
Most of the instructions are on the website here. So you can always check to see if it's suitable. this is an example

Chidren always need lego in their life!

I think the pictures are too small for him to follow them. Will just stick to a big box that he can do what he likes with for now.
