Advent readings

I'd really like to do a reading each night when we light the advent candle and turn it into a tradition; so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a lovely illustrated children's book with advent readings in it. I have a children's bible as well, but I'm never sure which reading would be appropriate and when, so I thought a specific book would help.

Thanks very much if anyone can suggest one!!

Also, someone recommended a book for sundays, when the big candles are lit, "Waiting for Noel" I think, can anyone confirm this? It sounded lovely.

Thanks again :)

Hi there, I have seen a gorgeous book called "Advent storybook, 24 stories to share before Christmas". Haven't any inside info but am thinking of buying this for DD this year as a lovely way to countdown Christmas!
"Waiting for noel" also looks a lovely book but seems too old for my LO at the moment.

This year i really wanted to celebrate Advent and do the whole lighting of the candles each sunday as it's such a magical time. Only 9wks til Advent!!!

Thanks, I'll have a look at that one! Is it actual bible readings, or just stories in the spirit of Advent/Christmas, do you know?

I'm sorry i don't know. I have just ordered it today online. It's short stories about a little bear who finds Jesus at the end being born that's all I found out.
I could send you a PM once i receive the book if that would help?

That would be fab, thank you!

Hi Fingon, just received the book today. It is charming, just how i imagined it to be.

24 short stories that a mummy bear tells her baby bear each evening in the run up to christmas. At the end of each short story there is a moral or quote realating to God, not an actual bible reading per se but perfect for lo's and which relates to the story just read - e.g love your neighbour type thing.

Hope that has been a help.
