is there one this year? I bought loads of things in the sales that i put away for this year, but given that last years seemed so much hard work (bless you norma) i am not sure anyone would want to take it on?

Starlight... the year we received we got a wide variaty of lovely things but tbh the one that touched me more than any other was the card an MNers autistic son had made for us himself. I still have it and put it up every Christmas.

Your gift sounds absolutely fabulous and very generous... I know I for one would really appreciate vouchers if I was stuck for money around Xmas as lovely as gifts from others are, you do still want to choose something for your kids yourself iyswim?

Don't feel bad, I had wanted to give much more but by the time i got my match i didn't have time to go shopping properly so felt like my recipient was a bit short changed too Sad

starlight and anyone else worried about the amount they can give - when we first did the first ever MN xmas appeal, most people were donating toys/clothes/dvds etc which they had grown out of etc with maybe some chocolate thrown in.
It is wonderful that people are prepared to donate bigger amounts/grander things etc, but for recipients (I was a tearfully grateful recipiant last year) it is most definitely the thought that counts!
Remember, it is not just for families in eed of material things, it is for people in need of TLC for all sorts of reasons.

Some really lovely person sent me a box of smellies, a few bits (magnet and funky key ring) and a lovely candle last year. I was touched, it was lovely that someone had taken the time and effort to do this for me. It doesn't need to be anything grand or extravagant, to show that someone is thought about is worth alot more.
