Going through tough time - can you pray for me?

Hello all,

I'm not doing so well. After 20+ years, it seems my youthful and dysfunctional coping mechanism of disordered eating has resurfaced.

I am constantly under stress and afraid, due to the news, the way people communicate with one another in such a hostile matter, the abuse of Christians around the world, upcoming surgeries, aging parents, uncertainty about the youth and the fear of what I can see happening, along with the fear of the unknown, and it is all bringing me to my knees emotionally and in prayer.

Going to my knees in prayer is absolutely what I should be doing but I don't know if I'm praying enough or for the right things. I'm praying that I put my trust in Him, that He removes fear and doubt and provides me with resilience so that I don't resort to sin during hardship.

I am praying that Jesus guides me and helps me through whatever is going on with me, currently, but can I ask that you all pray for me.

"Where 2 or more are gathered together....."

Thank you so much and God bless.

I will pray for you.

I would also say before you come to pray for anything try to put that aside for a few minutes and focus on something lovely, like maybe Psalm 23, and let yourself relax into the presence of the Lord. We pray best when we come from a place of knowing we are with him.

I'm so sorry you're going through such a difficult time. Please remember that you don't have to earn God's love by praying perfectly or by being strong all the time. He knows your heart, your fears and your struggles, even when you don't have the words to express them.

Throughout Scripture, God tells His people, time and time again, “Do not be afraid.” It's a message repeated throughout the Bible, not because there is nothing to fear in this world, but because we are never asked to face our fears alone. “Do not fear, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10). We can bring our anxieties to Him and trust that He is with us, even when we cannot see what lies ahead.

Sometimes the most honest prayer is simply, “Lord, help me.” And that's enough. The Psalms are full of people crying out to God in fear, sorrow and uncertainty. Faith doesn't mean we never feel afraid; it means we keep turning towards Him, even when we're afraid.
Please be gentle with yourself, too. You're carrying a great deal, and struggling doesn't mean you've failed God. You are a beloved daughter of the Father, not someone who has to get everything right to deserve His mercy. If your disordered eating has resurfaced, please don't feel you have to battle that alone. Seeking help is not a failure of faith.

I'll certainly keep you in my prayers, asking Our Lord to give you peace, Our Lady to draw you close to her Son, and the Holy Spirit to strengthen and comfort you. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be your refuge in these troubled times.
Remember, you don't have to carry tomorrow's burdens today. Take things one day at a time, and trust that God's grace will be there for you. God bless.

@HeKnows sorry to read of your current challenges. As @Ipsevenenabibas said, the Bible is full of people crying out to the Lord and there are many verses encouraging us to not be fearful. He already knows the state of your heart and mind; what we are thinking and feeling, and a simple cry from the heart 'Lord, help me!' is sufficient when you are unable to say more. I was once given the advice, when chatting to a Christian friend, when I was 'lost for words' to pray as we were taught to pray 'Our Father ...' Matthew 6:9-13

Philippians 4:6-7, Deuteronomy 31:6

I saw this sermon a few weeks ago and it is on worry and your post reminded me of it. Sometimes it is just hearing someone say it again if you need it.

I posted this post to help with fear to which may be helpful to read. I hope that it gets easier for you.
