How do mums with young children meet other Christians midweek?

I'd be interested to hear how other mums of small children manage to meet with other Christians during the week? Before DD, I was part of a midweek life group (home group) but now that DD is 2 and in bed in the evenings, and we're expecting twins soon, I'd love to hear how other mums manage it. Meeting with other Christians regularly is important for me.

My church has some lunchtime life groups, but to be honest they are mostly retired folk (nothing wrong with them, but I'm early 30s and just at a different stage of life) and I can't see how they'd work with a toddler and babies in tow. Other families at church either host a group at their house, with kids in bed, or have grandparents who babysit. We don't really want to host and lead a group, and don't have grandparents nearby.

Previously DH and I have been in the same group and alternated weeks, but neither of us found this very good as it was hard to get to know people - group doesn't meet in school hols, or first week of month, and fair few cancellations for other reasons too.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Could one of you go to one group and the other to another on a different day? Or pay a babysitter and go together? We did that.
