Any help appreciated...

Took my DS to docs today as he seems to be losing his voice. He is my third baby, and has a real problem keeping his milk (FF) down. He has to be held upright for approx half an hour after a feed as he gets very burpy and brings it all up.

I took him to docs a couple of weeks ago as he was very irritated /as though his throat was blocked- the gp gave some nasal drops which were completely useless/pointless. it eventually eased up with regular tummy time and water.

Yesterday morning he brought up a load of milk and the blocked throat has returned, only now he also seems to be losing his voice - very hoarse almost non existent cry. He has also developed oral thrush.

When i took him to the GP and showed him the oral thrush, and he gave an anti fungal for this. However he didnt seem too fussed about the fact that my ds could barely get a sound out. He seemed to think that the sore throat/ thrush are unconnected. i am not convinced with his advice.

has anybody experianced this/ or anything similar? i feel as though the constant regurgiatation is irritating his throat and has led to the sore throat and thrush )and i told the GP as much. However he dismissed my housewife/mummy medical theory.

I am worried that this may develop into something permanent.

a sore throat can be the result of reflux which your DS may have

my DS had silent reflux (so he had it without the vomiting) and he was very hoarse and it was especially noticeable when he cried

you are right to be concerned and i think if you can see another more sympathetic GP that would be helpful
