DS2 has a hives type rash. WHat is best to put on it?

I am pretty sure its a hives type rash. raised, red and itchy, only on his neck (all the way round). No other symptoms.

What is the best thing to put on it to stop him scratching. Got Germoline on at the mo as thats all i had to hand.

I would give him some piriton tbh which should get rid/calm down rash...

Thanks for your help earlier. I can't believe piriton slipped my mind! ANyway- we only have Benadryl in at the moment and there seems to be a world shortage of piriton syrup (He won't take half a tablet) so pharmacist said a one off, not very full, 2.5ml spoonful of Benadryl would be fine. It worked a treat- rash still there but it's not itching him now!
And she is putting us a bottle of piriton syrup to one side when they come in
