DD has bottom tooth coming through but baby tooth is not loose

Just wanted to check if this was normal, but 7yo DD has not lost any teeth yet and she just said her front bottom tooth hurt. I had a look, and behind the tooth she said is hurting, I can see a tooth coming through but through the gum behind the tooth if that makes any sense. I'm worried as I would have thought her tooth would be loose and the adult tooth would be coming through there, not behind, which looks like the baby tooth is not gonna come out so the adult tooth is being forced to go out elsewhere. I'm going to call the dentist tomorrow but just wanted to check if anyone has experienced something similar. TIA.

Happened with ds and dd - very normal. It will come loose in time and make space for new one.

Same happened with my DD too- as the tooth gets bigger the baby tooth will drop out.

I had 11 baby teeth removed because they wouldn't fall out and the second teeth were growing in the wrong direction. I don't think any of them were front teeth though.

If your DD is due a check-up anyway then take her along in the next few weeks. I don't think it's an urgent thing though.

Oh that's good to know. I just panicked when I saw it coming through and DD saying she was in pain (though she can be a bit of a drama queen when she feels like it) and DP wasn't sure if it was normal either so thought I would ask as she hasn't had any through yet and she was beginning to worry as most of her friends have lost all 4 front teeth so far. Thanks for putting my mind at ease
