Severe ear infection, head sweats and cold feet!

My DD is just 3 and has always had ear infections, last Xmas she had misdiagnosed pluerisy. Since then she has been really well until this week.

Presented to gp on Monday am with temp of 104 and apparently ear infection with drum severely swollen risking perf. So, straight onto Clarithromycin which is what she had for her pleurisy. She is allergic to penicilin.

Fever broke yesterday and she is bouncy again but tired. At night she is getting terrible sweats, her hair is soaked through but she does not have a temp and is within a dose of nurofen for pain.

She also goes ballistic if I take her socks off, says she has cold feet and will wake me in the middle of the night crying for darn socks if I take them off to try to help with sweats.

Any ideas please? A bit worried tbh.

Many thanks Pixie - much appreciated.

Will def ring the doc this am as she is very tigger-like -just cold feet and night sweats are odd. >sigh< doc thinks I am mad as it is as we always have to push the allergy testing etc. Poo.

poor DD - cold feet and fever would be very worrying, but cold feet and sweats.. not sure

It can be scary though - DD's last earinfection, her temp plummeted after a dose of neurofen and she was absolutely soaked.. had never seen anything like it and not sure what to think of it. She perked up the day after - so maybe it's a turning point?

hope she improves soon

Oricella, I know its odd eh? She was bouncy all day and gave the Clarithromycin at 6pm, she chilled out on the sofa for some milk and was fast asleep by 6.30pm, I lifted her into bed and she was already starting to get clammy. Could it be the antibs but if she why does it not happen in the morning dose?

Socks still firmly (clean ones) in place!
