Suncream that doesn't cause heat rash for kids

I've tried a few and they all seem to cause heat rash for ds1 (2.7years old). I wondered if anyone else has had success with any?

Thanks

E45 suncream is very good but goes on thickly/makes them look a little ghostly but the upside is that lasts nearly the entire day which is good if they are at nursery/school. Can be a bit hard to track down but ordered mine from Amazon.

Also Begaderm/Proderm The Sun Mousse for children is very gentle, pricey but non ghostly appearance - Boots certainly stock it.

I have read the BananaBoat make for children recommended (also in Boots and on offer) which mine are currently "testing" but the other two above are better imo.

Johnsons caused rash on my DD I now use Green Peoples unscented which she seems fine with.

Aloe vera gives my DD a rash, so be careful, if you don't have the money try your freinds or even people in the parc to try theirs, before buying
I tried tons of creams, including E45, all the baby ones, boots,... and in despair tried the spray on Nivea (the blue one for kids) and was sure she would react to it too...
I am still using it, and still surprised...

thanks for all of your posts. it is such a waste of money to keep buying isn't it. i have two bottles of kids soltan which will go unused (was on bogof).

thanks

Hiya

I have two v sensitive kids and have tried loads of creams.
Last summer I found an amazing one called Blue Lizard, from America. It's made to Australian standards, so the protection is much better than our European ones.
Skin was fine and no red marks/burning!

The other one we've used which has just arrived in the UK, is the one used in Austalia and is called Invisible Zinc.

Both creams are expensive but I don't think you can put a price on your kids skin!!
You can order them from Amazon.

thanks moosky
i've found the first - trying to work out how much 150ml is!
i can't find invisible zinc, but i'll look some more ... thanks for posting

can i check - you've used these and found they don't get heat rash / prickly heat they had with other creams?

Pretty sure that ds reacts to the perfume in suncream so I find Simple is the best for him....alternatively there is a swedish high performance one (used by people doing water sports) which is also good...

We use Calypso dry oil spray, which is about 2.50 from Wilkos. It's cheap but good.

It's very light and non-messy, doesn't trigger my excema and we're all still ghostly pale even after several days in the sun.
