Was just changing her nappy and happened to feel it, I know I shouldn't go looking but I thought I'd just check. It's about size in diameter of a malteeser. She has bad excema on her legs, is this the cause. Going to get her in at docs tomoz but I have a sick feeling in my tummy. She is 12m old. Very healthy, active, happy etc. Oh god am so worried never felt a lymph node that big before. Any experience?

I have no idea but with DS2 (now 7 months) I've found lumps and bumps that were quite big, lost sleep, and it's been glands, and once it was his ribs . I'm sure she'll be fine.

Hmm-no experience of it in my child but I had this when I was stung on my foot, could she have a virus or an infection of some sort? I think glands can enlarge for various reasons, hopefully the doc will reassure you.My lump went very quickly after antibiotics.

There's loads of things it could be (a pea sometimes does this on it's travels, could be a hernia, could be an infection), best way to find out is to pop her to the GP.

My DDs glands ame up when she had a virus. She wasn't ill with it, but they were big, in her groin, armpits and neck. She was a baby too. They just went down again.

My son had a lump in his groin when he was about a year old, It was a hernia, The consultant said it might settle back of it own accord over time and as it didn't seem to bother him it was just monitored. It did indeed go of its own accord within six months.

Hello took dd to drs this morning and it is a lymph node due to her excema. Doc says perfectly normal. Thanks for all replies, was very reassuring yesterday.

I had an enlarged lymph noid in my groin when I had shingles on my bum that had got infected. They do take a long time to go back down once the infection has gone.
