ds2 is 15 months, he was due to have the MMR in the next few weeks.

ds1's friends mother brought him to softplay on saturday and was in the house for about 2 hours afterwards, during that time her baby puked on the floor. I also gave the baby neurfen from one of our syringes which i rinced in hot water and left lying on the draining board near all the drinks cups etc. Baby was quite ill but mother presumed it was a bug.

Have found out this morning the baby is suspected of having measles.

I know you're supposed to give the MMR as soon after exposure as possible but is 3 days to long after the fact? (assuming i could get an appointment today)

Speak to the nurse at your GP, but this happened to my DD1 (albeit wrt her second dose of MMR) and we were told to give her the injection within 2 weeks iirc. It wasn't 100% guaranteed effective but it is supposed to reduce the severity of any infection.

FWIW, I think measles can be hard to diagnose and it could just be a viral rash.

hopefully it is just a false alarm but thanks for the info Halibo.

The problem with our docs is i'll only get through to the receptionist if i ring so i was hoping to find info on the best course of action online.... typing 'measles' and 'unvaccinated' into google isn't hugely helpful though
