Excessive intoeing in 3 year old to the point she is falling over her own feet several times a day...

We saw a podiatrist when she first started walking at 13months) as she had problems with her toes, and they mentioned that she may intoe later, but that it normally resolves itself by 7 or 8.

It has gotten progressively worse, to the point that she stumbles constantly and actually falls over her own feet several times a day and has a permanently grazed chin and knees.

Everything I've read says it's not serious and that it will resolve, but I can't find anything about when I should worry and get it reassessed.

Is this amount of stumbling normal? She is getting to the point that she doesn't want to walk anywhere as well, where normally she loves it.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

My toddler son does it as well. But I have noticed that his feet are a bit uneven, he will need to use insoles. That is my problem as well but I have never had insoles. Now I am not comfortable wearing very flat shoes. I can see that my son has the same thing with his sole when looking at his feet from behind. It is like he alsmost walks on his inner sole, yet he curles his toes as well on this foot. He is quite clumsy because of that.
You might ask for the orthopedic insoles as well as the earlier the better if that is a similar to my son's problem.
have you ever noticed how many women wearing Ugg boots walk on their soles? That is because they never worn those orthopedic insoles (or started wearing too late).

Ds1 was really bad when he was little.. To the point of tripping himself up.
I was reassurred that it would correct itself when he a bit older as his muscles would get stronger.. And compensate for his pelvis pointing forward a bit too much.

It did correct itself at around six years old, he is 15 now and shows no sign of it.

If you dd is falling over a lot my advice is pop to the gp with your concerns and have dd checked out again to make sure it's nothing more than this.

She had been wearing some cheapy pumps, but now has some new fitted and more supportive trainers and it seems a bit better.
