4 month old reaction to baby wipes-please help!

have 4 month b/g twins, usually use 'Cheeky wipes',reusable wipes (cloth with water and gentle blend of ess oils suitable for use on babies).Yesterday we were out and i used disposale wipes on them for convenience and dd reacted to them on her genital area.
Skin is red and inflamed and very sore when she wees and when i try to clean it off.
Going to gp this morning but interested in any natural remedies to help to calm the skin and her.so far i am cleaning her with water and a soft cloth and leaving nappy off as much as i can.

are you breastfeeding? Breastmilk is good for nappy rash - just squirt a bit over the inflamed area and leave to dry naturally.

Its also good for blocked noses, gungy eyes, etc.

My DD got awful nappy rash from baby wipes. Hope it clears up soon.

This is pricey but wonderful, would highly recomend.

I think you will find the rash will calm down over the next couple of days if you carry on doing what you are doing already, at least the weather is good so nappy off time is easy.

Have you used any of their other products?Im wondering now what i should wash her with ongoing,was bought loads of johnsons baby products but im not too keen

I used Kamilosan (sp)? as a nappy rash cream as I had bought it for Breastfeeding and never really needed it, it was very gentle and effective. It's a good all-rounder.

Hiya - I used rooibos tea on DDs sore bottom with a washable wipe. I use quite a strong solution and leave it to dry on - I occasionally used to put a wipe soaked in tea in her nappy and left it in to sooth when she had a wee. We use washable nappies so a wipe/booster in the nappy was great for us. If you use disposables you could soak a sheet of kitchen roll and line the nappy with it.

for now i would just use cotton wool and plain water - any cloth wipes will sting atm IMO
fresh air and no more wipes should sort it out in a couple of days

lovebugs Yes, loads of their stuff, I used to use their baby wash but use the kids one now as they are 2 and 5, the lavender is nice but I prefer the chamomile it's lovely.

The stuff seems expensive but it is very potent a little goes a long way, I would expect a 200ml size wash to last a good 6-9 months when used everyday as bodywash and shampoo on my two.

The toothpaste is good too, as is the suncream.

Not entirely sure I remember this entirely correctly, but I seem to remember a midwife suggested cold tea (poss green tea??) when a similar thing happened to ds. You basically soak the cotton wool in the tea and wipe it on.

I may have dreamed this though, it was 8 years ago.....

just got back from gp who has prescribed hydrocortisone cream and conotrane cream as well as antibiotics as she has a slight temperature. I am a bit shocked though and asked if that was all necessary and he said yes.
She is generally well and happy just this sore skin so now i am very confused!
