Would he vomit 6 times from eating too much?

my 6 yo ds was sick yesterday evening, 6 times between 7 and 10pm. He'd had his tea, then bowl of icecream, then a flapjack, then at a friend's house has a piece of cake. He was sick shortly after eating the cake.

He has a zoo trip with the Beavers today which is all day. I'm reluctant to send him in case it was a virus but he is very keen and feeling fine now. Would a child vomit 6 times from eating too much cake? I don't want to inflict other children with a bug, and also think he may feel weak, though he insists he's fine. He's meant to be leaving in a hour!!What would you do??

No, he has a tummy bug for sure and he would still be contagious. Although he may feel fine when he eats his body will reject and bring it up. He needs to be kept home really.
