My DD has been experiencing some pretty bad constipation, and I was just wondering what other people's experience has been? I was doing BLW with just a bit of porridge at night but my doc advised giving her more food, as in lots of fruit and veggies and loads of water and prune juice, but it just feels counter intuitive somehow to be giving her more, although she is a very hungry baby and is happily shovelling it in. I wondered whether other people had found certain foods bad or helpful. (Apart from the obvious ones, like I know prunes are good and banana bungs)

Dd went through a stage of this. I used mix prunes/prune juice with baby rice/yoghurt. Nothing was THAT effective though. I had lactulose from the paedeotrician and a lecture to give her more fluid. Like you can make a baby drink more....But it was a phase.

Actually banana is ok.I would put half a tea spoon of olive oil in her food, you will need mush for that.I mix blw and puree no problemo.Hope it works.

Prune juice might be a bit too harsh bur fruist and veggies good, lots of fluids. Avoid too much cheese/bread. Apricots/stewed apple very good to get things moving, same for ripe pears.

DD2 has trouble with constipation. When she was first weaning, I'd take dried prunes, soak them in boiling water for a few hours until mushy, then blend it up with a little water to make prune puree. Then I added some to all her other puree meals/porridge etc. Worked a treat!
