7yr old's poo fears - what can I do?

My DD seems to have a problem pooing all in one go so then she's always got pooey pants or there's dried lumps in her bed. She now says her bottom hurts when she poos (which is understandable as it's rarely clean!) which is adding to the problem. She's a very anxious little girl anyway and I wonder if it's all about not being able to relax?

Anyone got any similar experience/advice?
Thanks.

My DD had terrible pain when pooing...it was a nightmare at every toilet trip.
After seeing the doc she discovered she had a fissure, which is a tear in the inside of the bottom making it painful when passing stools. she was prescribed a liquid medicine which softens the stools and gives the tear a chance to heal.
Could this be what's wrong with your DD?

Sounds about right, didn't realise GP would do anything about it though! Thanks, will try and take her along this week.
