So ARE Crocs good for kids feet or not?

I took DS1 into a Clarks shop wearing Crocs and was told that they were bad for his feet - not stated why though and they're not exactly unbiased.

Then I saw a thing on GMTV saying how good Crocs were, as long as you use the back strap, much better than flip flops anyway.

Again, not the most reliable source, but who is right?

Well I will be watching with interest as my ds wore crocs all last summer and loved them! Going to school in sep in black socks and shoes was a shock for him lol!

I can't see how they can be bad, they have a very wide toe and let the foot breathe, whether they have to clench to grip I don't know. Tbh my last 2 experiences with clarks have been pants too. They just fitted my dd with her first shoes a size too big!!! So now we go to Charles klinkard who incidently sell crocs.

I don't think that the assistants in clarks know what they're talking about based on my own experiences with them.

In my student days I would spend the holidays working in a sports shop. You could tell who had just come from Clarks as they always told me their child had "a very wide foot", all said in the same tone! Some did, some didn't...

i got told my eldest son had a 'wide foot' ! he is a G. I were told mothercare shoes are bad for their feet, that is what he was wearing at the time.

hummm crocks or winkle pickers???? They seem alright to me.

crocs have now started making shoes in single sizes, eg a 9 or 10 and not 9-10 as before....which i think is better so that DC are not wearing something too big for months on end

I don't like seeing crocs on very little kids as they often seem loose and slip causing htem to walk pigeon toed and clumsily. Whether they are bad for feet or just make walking hard (like wellies or slips ons similarly do) I don't know. dc have never been inclined to try them and dd has ultra narrow feet anyway.

they are only casual summer shoes , so I can't see how they do any harm, and I was brought up on clarkes and startrite as have my dc, but we all have crocs, they are great for the garden and beach and round the pool on hols.
On cost I would say the cheaper copies are just as good, they are all basically the same thing, so i wouldn't buy real crocs for my dc as their feet are still growing. I have had mine for about 3 years and they are still going strong.
