ds2 has been off and on unwell (tonsilitis, ear infec etc) for a while. Last took him to GP wed and he got anti biotics, he hasnt seemed too bad since, just kind of snotty.

but...when i went to get him up from his morning nap on Sunday he just stared blankly at me as though he didnt know me. Since then he has been much much quieter, not so active. Whilst there are times he is still talking and playing etc, its really quite a marked difference (i think) on how he was before. He is still eating, drinking, weeing, pooing and sleeping as normal, just keeps giving me these looks like he doesnt know me, not so many smiles...am i going crazy? is there a perfectly reasonable excuse for this? DH (who also has noticed a difference) thinks I'm crazy

if you are worried get him checked out. quiet toddlers are always a worry.

Has his hearing been checked? Maybe with all ear infections has got hearing problems - which would explain to some extent the blank stares. I'd get him checked. Could also be just shattered with all recent illnesses.
