Persuading 3 year old to take medicine

Ds has just been put on fibrogel and I can't persuade him to take it!

It is a powder that you mix to make a drink so not like I can adopt the headlock and syringe technique as it makes a good sized drink. He started drinking the first lot straight down as he was excited about it being medicine but now he won't touch it. I can't really leave it lying around as the only drink on offer as dd will get to it so I have to wait until he asks for a drink really but of course he is 3 and stubborn so o nce he cottons on that all he is going to get is his medicine drink it could get very ugly!

He is going to be on this for months if it works so any advice on how to get him happy to drink it would be great!

bribe with refined carbs?
also the lure of a nice new cup/fancy straws might help maybe.

Let him have other drinks when he wants them. But say he can't have sweetie/biscuit/his laptop til he's drunk that one.

He has both orange and lemon to choose from.

Managed this morning by putting it in a sippy cup as he is always trying to steal dd's . I also found that if I leave it for half an hour or so it seems to mix better which he was happier with.

Bribary is tricky with him, I had a slice of cake in front of him last night and he still wouldn't finish it!

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming! Hopefully we will get there but any genius ideas welcome
