My 5 year old dd has had 'sloppy' poo (kind of porridge-like!) for about 3 months. She wakes up about 6am with tummy ache then does a sloppy poo. She'll often go later in the day too. She's also lost a little weight compared to when she was weighed in school 1 yr ago, and seems a bit tired and pale. Been to the GP a few times over them past few months - poo sample showed no signs of infection, tummy feels normal. GP last week referred her to the Padeiatrician at the hospital. Any thoughts on what it might be or anyone been through anything similar? She also has a bald patch in her beautiful hair which the GP assures me is quite common in children and not related to the poo stuff. Her hospital appt is at the ned of April so we've a bit of a wait yet...
Thanks

MY ds had runny poos ( and lots of accidents)
I cut out orange juice and squash form his diet and he was fine.
On the odd occassion he something Orange it flares up again.

that's interesting sixty thanks. DD doesn't only drinks water but I guess it could easily be a food related thing. Think I'll keep a food diary while we're waiting for the appointment. Thank you.

Have you thought about trying to cut out gluten? I have a couple of friends who have children with coeliac disease and the poo symptoms sound similar. I'm sure the hospital will test for that when you go. Good luck - I hope you manage to get her sorted out
