Hi,

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to my DD who's suffering at the mo.

She was really sicky about 10 days ago which knocked her for six as she recovered. I thought just getting over the night of lost sleep while she vomitted continuously but about 5 days after that she developped white spots on her tongue. The Doc diagnosed oral thrush and gave us Nystatin. She's been in horrible pain and struggling to eat anything and then last night 4 days after the thrush diagnosis her temperature hit the roof. I had her back to see a different Doc this morning who just said she has a big ulcer on her tongue and prescribed calgel and lots of vitamin C rich drinks/foods. She tried to dismiss the temperature as DD seemed OK in the surgery despite being dosed up on calpol. Only symptom other than ulcer is a slightly red throat. She did give me a prescripion for antibiotics and told me to hold off for 24 hrs to see if she feels better as the ulcer hopefully heals.

Anyone else had similar collection of problems at the same time? Struggling to see if the sickness, oral thrush, ulcer and now possible throat infection are connected or just bad luck.

Just want my little poppet to be well again.

good advice to hold off on anti biotitics, if not needed, babies get and will make the thrush worse.
well done for thinking things through and not just knee jurk reacting. lots of drinks and vitamins will help.
