Blood tests show elevated AST liver enzyme in baby DS - does anyone have experience of this?

4 week old DS has had a jaudance test and the hospital phoned today asking us to come back tomorrow for further tests. The AST level was 68. Any advice as I am worried??

Of course you're worried but try not to fret too badly tonight. You need to make a list of your questions:

What does this result mean?
What could have caused it?
If it isn't that what could it be?
What do we do about that?
What will happen if we don't do that?

Then just keep taking deep breaths and having warms drinks and comforting food. I know how scary it is to think something could be wrong with your very young baby. I don't know what this test means but I do know that you will be in good hands and that everyone will be working to find out what's happening and help you both.
