Thought I would share this information from a local hospital with you, especially as the Easter holidays are quickly approaching.
A close friend's child (6yrs) was admitted to hospital before Christmas with an eye infection (Piri Orbital Celulitus) and was on a lot of antibiotics for 3 weeks.
The family have recently heard that it turns out that this infection has been very common over the last 6 months with young children.
Many of these cases have been down to children having their faces painted, where certain establishments aren?t changing their brushes in-between painting children?s faces.
It?s apparently a very easy infection to pick up. The infection can also go into the actual eye, then to the brain and finally they were very frightened to hear the word meningitis.
This is a genuine message although I haven't any medical reference for it, but worth just bearing in mind.
