DD (7) had a fall at lunchtime still in pain. Should I be worried?

She can wiggle her fingers and managed to take off her own polo shirt. Am I being a bit silly to worry?

Sorry I posted in a hurry. It's her forearm that hurts she's holding it against her body and not using it.

Have given calpol.
She doesn't seem to forget-I have been watching for that. She doesn't use the arm even for doing things she loves doing, like drawing.
I'm thinking at the moment that if she still in pain tomorrow will take her to gp just in case.

Yep, would go to a/e tonight. It does sound like a fracture or nasty sprain.

I would get it xrayed tonight if I were you.

pinkheart · 16/03/2010 20:50

i've seen childrne using their arm even when they have alittle greenstick fracture so best to get it checked at least. if it is broke and you leave it then you'll feel bad for leaving it ! dont bother with the gp, they will only send you to a&e to be sent to xray anyway.

stopiwanttogetoff · 16/03/2010 20:52

Just to repeat what others have said - do go to A&E tonight if you can. I broke my arm at school at about this age but because the staff didn't believe me it took a week to finally get taken to A&E.

You will kick yourself if there is something wrong and you didn't get it check out and if it is all fine at least you have had your mind put at rest.

Good Luck!

Hi
We're just back from a&e she does not have a fracture thankfully. So just a sling and some calpol for a few days and we have a follow up appointment on mon.
Thank you all for your advice
