Baby screwing his eyes shut - teething, virus, or something hideous?

Hello

This is probably a ridiculous question, but for the last couple of days my 8mo DS has been screwing his eyes shut, as if flinching, five or six times in a row.

He's been teething this week, and was hugely sick last night, a chesty cough and has a rash on his face (which I'm assuming is viral). He's also much more sleepy than usual.

I can't decide if this is just an unfortunate combination of baby ailments, and the screwing eyes shut is because his teeth hurt, or something hideous and deadly I should worry about.

He's my first, so I may well be being PFB...

If you're worried, take him to your doctor. It probably is just a combination of seasonal viruses, teething and so forth but, just to be on the safe side (because that's quite a comprehensive list of various nasties), get him checked out by the professionals rather than worrying. They're always happy to reassure parents.

BTW... my son used to do that face when he had stomach-ache/wind... would be consistent with him vomiting.
