went to the bedwetting clinic with dd (nearly 7) and they put her on Oxybutin as she is producing too much urine. How long does it take to work and does it work??

I have taken this drug in the past as an adult as I have a long and somewhat distressng urinary tract problem.

It does not affect the amount of urine produced. It relaxes the bladder muscle and stop 'urge incontinence' where the bladder muscle involuntarily contracts.

It has its effect within hours and has some negative side effects. The wikipedia article on oxybutinin mirrors my own experience so I think quite accurate.

Your DD ay find the dry mouth side effect very uncomfortable and in my case it paralysed my bladder and I had to have a cathater inserted to have my bladder emptied. Watch out for that side effect.

DO NOT OVERDOSE.
