I'm usually perfectly calm and sensible about sickness but for some reason I'm worried tonight.

She's been sick a few times and the last 2 times she didn't really wake up properly, she's exhausted I guess. She doesn't have a headache, her hands and feet are warm, but I've got it into my head that she might choke on vomit in the night.

Do older children choke like that? (She's 8).I shall sleep in her room but now I'm worried about being worried iyswim. Is it my instinct?

I'm over-thinking this, aren't I?

People worry about all sorts of things. If you were in her room you'll feel better knowing you were there. At 8 they usually know if they're going to be sick and run to the loo. If she's been that many times, it's doubtful she was sick any more?

I think your reaction is perfectly understandable. Sleep next to her, I often do thaat with my children. Is she showing signs of dehydration?

Choking on vomit is unusual unless you are drugged or drunk.

I think you idea about sleeping in with her is a good one. Although you probably wont get much. I always do this when mine are ill as its so reassurung (and saves getting in and out of bed)and they are 7 and 10. Hope she feels better soon.

We always sleep in with the kids when they're ill, just in case.
