My 13 month old has a white spot (looks like goo at first glance) on the surface of her eye partially covering the iris (but not the pupil) I want to know what it is.

The Dr didn't seem to concerned as it hasn't changed since birth. I'm waiting for a referal but these things can take forever and now my Hubby is freaking out worrying about eye cancer. (He made the mistake of Google-ing 'white spot on baby's eye')

Does any one elses baby have this, or has had it diagnosed?

dd has this - a dermoid cyst. It is quite rare but benigh. We were told it could be removed but have yet to bother - she's 8 now.

My daughter also has a conjunctival dermoid cyst.
Looks just as you describe (like goo in her eye) and has been there since birth.
It doesn’t affect her vision at all.
I had not changed since birth and she is now in her teens.
I was told it is normal tissue, but just in an abnormal place.
Nothing to worry about OP.

Are you saying there's a time warp?

nannymummyminder · 06/03/2022 20:33

OMG!
I am actually dying right now.
I was checking an update email from Mumsnet and randomly saw this post.
I thought, ‘amazing I can definitely offer advice here’

Next question, any advice on how to manage DD’s raging hormones. 🤣

This is the sweetest thing, it's really touched me this evening. If only we could all go back and reassure our worried early motherhood selves!

Glad it all worked out okay OP Xx

It really is. And just think @nannymummyminder, in 10 years time you’ll be able to come back and attest to your grown-up daughter being perfectly lovely. 🌷

Omg I remember OP answering her own post before and thought I was having some weird double deja vu when I saw the date was today. Of course it was the pram thread I was thinking of.
