That is a shame for you and your poor ds. Did you just discover recently that he couldn't take calpol and what happened when he took it?

You can give up to 3 doses of the ibuprofen and upt to 4 paracetamol in 24 hours. You can do this on a rotation basis so paracetamol first thing, maybe 3 hrs after some ibuprofen and then a few hours after that the paracetamol and so on, being careful not to go over the max dose. You'll need to write it down - I know I do! Your wee one needs to have a little something in his stomach before the ibuprofen though.

If his temp is still up that high, I'd be calling NHS 24 for advice.

Antibiotics should show signs of working after about 2-3 days. If no change, insist he is looked at. Ear infections that go on are bad news.

Horrible for you both.

Other than that, just keep him lighly dressed and don't hesitate to get help. Hope he is fine soon. When they bounce back, it is so fast it is miraculous - hope that is soon.

Oh and rotating the meds is so there is no more than one dose of each different one every 4 hours.

Thanks so I start with paracetmol then say wait 2 - 3 hours and start ibuprofen then wait around 2 - 3 hours again ? im i getting this right ...

the reaction he had made him more hotter as well and the doctor said its the body protecting its self ... in a allegic reation he had prition and seemed better couple days later .. it was like puddles on his arm and leg one side ... ( looked like burns ) .. scared me first time and second but first time i rang NHS direct and they told me go to out of hours doc ..

Yeah, that's the idea wrt the meds.

Poor wee thing having a reaction to that as well as a miserable ear infection.

Hope he is a bit better today.
