Screaming and frothy green poo in 12 week old

That's it really. He went bonkers this evening. I couldn't console him or get him to take the breast to calm him. He was screaming his head off for about an hour. Terrible. Poor mite.

But his nappy had frothy green poo after a day of the usual stuff. What does it mean? Should I take him to the docs? Urgent care? I got Calpol down him and that seemed to help. He's sleeping now. Pale but sleeping. Any advice?

I'd phone NHS direct if I were you - they'll tell you to go to the Dr if you need to 08454647

It could be just a stomach bug.
FWIW DD had diarrhea and little fever at 3 weeks- went to A&E and they kept her overnight and did three blood tests but more on account of fever and her very young age than because of diarrhea, which by that point she already had for about 10 days ( but still having plenty of wet nappies, feeding well etc) and it was never explained in the end.
If he seems ok, I would wait til the morning and then call your GP if he still poos green froth.
Does he have fever?

No fever. Not even at height of his yelling. His nappy since green poo is already full of wee so does that mean he's not dehydrated? He's sleeping now so I'll leave him be but will be on standby in the small hours!

Green poo is not uncommon in exclusively bf babies. Mine both had it from time to time.

If no fever, and you didn't notice any other potentially alarming signs ie being limp etc, I would think it's either a bug and that can wait til morning, or just a normal poo, as there are variations sometimes in bf babies.
I'm sure he's not dehydrated as he would have to have diarrhea for a bit for this to be a case, if he ate well during a day and had just one frothy BM, he should be fine.
But do take his temp tomorrow morning, just to be sure (but wait 20 minutes after waking, as he might be a bit hotter for being in his grobag) and call GP if he still has strange poo.
