faltering growth in 6 month old - worried ++

dd was 10 weeks prem but was putting on weight well til about 6 weeks ago. Initially she was fed on expressed breast milk (following 3 weeks NGT feeding)but we got bf going at 10 weeks. Her weight gain slowed down a lot early Jan (had not weighed her for 4 weeks)and last week she didn't gain at all Very worried about that. She has started to fuss at the breast a lot and I don't think she is taking much during the day even though her night feeds are quite good. She is sick a lot (reflux) but this didn't interfere with her weight gain in the past. Just found out that she has tongue-tie and she is having it released next week - but don't know if this is the problem since she was able to feed before. I can't get extra milk into her because she refuses bottles/formula and I am unable to express more than 20 ml of bm. Have started weaning but she only seems to want fruit puree, spits out anything else and has been sick after eating vegetable and some fruits. I was wondering whether there is anything physical going on - e.g with her stomach. Sorry so long - was hoping someone might have been through something similar and have some advice or be able to reassure me.

Hi, if this was me I would see if having the tongue tie released made any difference at all to her feeding, it may be she is getting agitated by it as she gets older. If no difference and she is still being sick after food etc I would push at the doctor for some tests to be done, preemies can sometimes have digestive problems, although obviously this may not be the case. If she had been full term that would mean she would be around 4 months now so maybe she just cant cope with weaning in the same way that a full term baby at six months now can do if that makes sense and she may catch up over the next few months as she develops. Apart from purees and veg have you tried her on the baby cereal? Heinz ones etc? my 2 loved these after they refused the baby rice - you could add BM or even formula and make it as runny as you like - the added vitamins etc from both the formula and the cereal would be great for her and they are both pretty calorific so her weight should creep up. Just keep trying her with it over and over again until she gets used to the taste and starts to enjoy it. hope all goes well.

Thank you helinher Nice to get a reply Yes I tried banana porridge but she only ate it with water - rejected it with formula. Not sure if it's because she doesn't like the taste of formula but will keep trying. Though bit worried about giving her anything other than fruit puree atm because of the vomitting. Will see if she has lost any weight tomorrow as I expect the tongue-tie division may affect her feeding directly after if she is sore. She fed well last night (from me) and has kept it down so far. Think stopping the daktarin has helped.
This morning I gave her a few spoons of a breakfast food which has wholegrain rice, banana and yogurt in and she seemed to keep that down (so far). I have worried myself sick by googling late onset of faltering growth and imagining all kinds of scenarios - you know how it is!
