He gets a cough everytime he catches a cold and he coughed so much today that he vomited all over himself outside costas, to the shock of the customers, poor little thing, good job there was a loo nearby. I had given him boots cough syrup earlier but that doesn't help, does anyone else have any suggestions?

I use tixilex which is non drowsy and usually works. It seems to ease the coughing. Along with that I burn oils - eucalyptus oil and lavender in a room with the door closed before they go to bed and while asleep that helps alot. Obviously making sure the oils aren't burning while asleep. As well as burning the oils through the day in whichever room you are with him making sure the door is closed to get full use of the oils. Hope that helps. Oh and another thing I do is put vicks or baby vicks on either the front or the back of the childs chest that way it can work its way through.

there was a study that showed a spoonful of honey is as good as cough syrup if you want to give somethign tosoothe his throat

my mum used to put Vicks or Karvol on our vests and send us to school...
