Does anyone know if all auto-immune diseases in family are a counter-indication to MMR for DD?

My mum has an underactive thyroid- basically she doesn't have one as it attacks itself and has to take meds daily.
Now I know that possibly having MS or Crohn disease in the family could be a problem.
I see no point in asking DD's doctor as when she had week-long bouts of diarrhea after DTPs doctor said it couldn't be a side effect of the vaccine. I had a look at the DTP notice and, of course, it was mentioned.
So, if there is anyone knowledgeable on here, I would appreciate any advice or pointing me towards relevant website.
TIA

I have an under-active thyroid (and related other auto-immune condition) and both dcs have had the MMR (ds was hot and feverish after 2nd jab). I also have two adult cousins with autism, so as you can imagine did my research carefully. Dh is a scientist and was always in favour. Otoh, having an autoimmune condition I will never have the swine 'flu jab. But if you do a search on here there are loads of threads written by MNers about MMR who are really, really informed.

But you mention MS and Crohns which I know little about in relation to having the MMR. Is this something that affects you or dh?

Thanks, Heated. No, no MS or Crohns, just that I heard somewhere that there was research done on those diseases and MMR.

obviously there is a big link between history of crohns disease and MMR/autism but we have no crohns here. We had low level immune issues such as excema/asthma, history of milder reactions to jabs and history of gut problems and food intolerances/allergies.

(DS2 had catastrophic reaction and developed ASD, multiple food issues and allergies and gut problems post MMR)

Could you get to see Richard Halvorensen? Or try and shout out some of the people on the Vaccination threads with info. If not marilyn Le Breton is loevely. She is at AiA (www.autismmedical.com).

I btw I am goingto hide this now as can't cope with the nay sayers in the festive period - so I will have gone, not ignoring should you reply

Thank you, pagwatch, I know it's an emotional subject for you.
Will have a look at stuff you suggested.
