Any ideas about my dd's tummy ache?

Hello, my dd1 is 3.6 and has been complaining of tummy ache from time to time for a month or so. Have not taken her to GP before as it has not been severe, but I have now made her an appointment for Monday as it's been going on for a while. I'm glad I did, as she has now come down with a chesty cough and high temperature, and has been complaining about the tummy ache more often. She has also had black poo for the past two days. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas what's going on? I would assume the tummy ache was due to whatever virus she has got, except that it started before the onset of the virus.

TIA

When you say black do you mean pitch tarry black or just dark.
If pitch tarry black need to go to Dr or hospital tomorrow. If not common causes of tummy pain include constipation - even if she if going daily - is it hard and difficult to go?
Can she locate the site of the pain or is it vague?

I would say the poo was black but not exactly tarry. It has now gone back to normal, although she is still poorly and still complaining of tummy ache - not localised, she says it hurts all over. She was a bit constipated a few months ago, but I encouraged her to eat more fruit and this is now a lot better.

Black poo needs proper investigation. It sounds revolting but if she has this again you need to show a GP.
