hello, my son just does not eat
he picks at things very occasionally and pretty much refuses everything, he has lost a lot of weight, and now most mornings we are woken to the sound of him crying and to him and his bed covered in diorreah!!! delightful,
i know this is due to lack of fibre in his diet, but what can i do, i cannot force him to eat.
i have never had this problem before with my two dds. but am now at my wits end. any tips would be grateful before i take him to the doctors. TIA xxxx

Thank goodness for that. Please let us know how he gets on.

Missus84 · 11/12/2009 20:37

If he's lost a lot of weight, that's still serious enough to see the doctor about asap.

Lulumama · 11/12/2009 21:15

whether the OP was dramatic or badly worded or whatever, a child who is pooing in the bed due to illness cannot wait 48 hours to see a doctor.

Jujubean77 · 11/12/2009 22:09

I agree - you still need to take him tonight, he is in discomfort why are you holding off?

could he be lactose intolerant?
Try cutting out all cows milk products for a week and see if he improves

But go to doctors first and ask if my suggestion is a good one

maxybrown · 12/12/2009 09:40

My son hardly ever eats, but he has never lost weight and is thriving so I know he is ok and taking what he needs. Is the losing weight thing just since the s&d or ongoing? As that would concern me tbh. Hope he is ok though
