is this normal? she seems to have some breast tissue but she is quite a sturdy build so it is hard to tell if its just puppy fat. she also downy pubic hair which is starting to get darker.

is this precocious puberty or within the normal range.

i would keep an eye on it for a short while and if it develops anymore take her to the GP cos it does seem VERY early and could be precocious puberty.

what i'm unclear about is whether they have to have full on 'short and curlies' for it to qualify as precocious puberty. she hasnt. if you changed in the same cubicle as her at swimming you prob wouldnt notice anything.

My friend has a daughter who is turning 8 in two weeks who is also showing the first signs. She attended a talk for parents at school recently where they said that puberty in girls is linked with body weight. This daughter is also fairly sturdy in build so that might be it?
