Hi
I am hoping someone out there has some advice for me please
My baby is coming up for 8 months old now.
I had a thread on here previously when i tried to wean her at 23 weeks..The reason I did this was she has a diary allergy & I am completly breastfeeding & dairy free & so will have to go very slowely with introducing one thing at a time... & so I started a little early.... anyway... it went horribly wrong... within a couple of hours of giving just pure baby rice with my breastmilk...she started all her previous refluxy symptoms that she had before I went dairy free- Hiccups-wet burps, arching her back & crying & crying & lots of tummy sounds. I asked you guys on here & my paedatriction & you all said her system just may not be ready.. to wait & try again....
well I did.. The second attempt was at 31weeks- so she should be well & truely ready!
I did her pear for 2 days, rice for 2 days, banana for 2 days & she LOVED IT.. whoofed it down! but ...she was so bad..in so much pain?!!!!
within a couple of hours again of her first feed I started to see her getting narky & cranky..with lots of wet burps, hiccups etc.. as the days went on it got worse & worse..she just cried & clung to me all day long.. & so after 6 days we stopped... then after no food for 2 days... she was back to my normal happy little girl??
No this reaction seems to be no matter WHAT i feed her? so its not an allergic reaction to the things im trying ( No rash, no runny poo) ..i just feel that she cannot digest solid food ??
we have seen a gastro doc.. hes baffled.. cannot understand what the problem is.. & we have one month.. to try again with yet more different foods & if she reacts this way again then they are going to admit her to see if she has somthing wrong with her tummy
So I just wanted to know has anyone had an experience like this or any advice??
My baby cannot eat food without being in agony & we just dont know why?
(She is 100% BF now & weight is fab (50th centile all the way since birth), she seems satisfied with the milk & is completly happy..as long as we dont give solids.)
