lower abdominal pain in dd1 (11yrs old).

Took her to dr's a month ago and was told to keep a diary as she suspected Mittelsmerchz(sp)?syndrome or abdominal migraine.
She's kept a diary-of sorts-but has logged every different type of tummy aches she's had.(wind etc.)

I noticed that the pain she originally went with seemed to tail off (sudden excruciating pain in the lower abdomen which lasted for 1-5 minutes.)

Today-almost a month-since we went to the Dr.-she seems to be getting this pain again.

She hasn't started her periods yet but is it possible to get period-pain without actually bleeding?

I'm no doc but as soon as I read your message I thought - periods.

My dd is 11 and a few of her friends have started.

but would she be getting these pains without actually getting her periods?

Well, maybe. I only get pain for 2 days before it starts.

Take her to the GP if you're worried.

yes i'm the same with period pain...sometimes don't even get it at all.I do remember though,as a 12/13yr old girl,I could be walking to school when i'd get this horrendous pain and i'd have to stop...grabbed a tree once and squeezed like crazy .
thing is,-although thinking back it probably was-I don't know if it was related to when I was due to come on.
(mind you,my periods were always all over the place!)
Apparently,Mittelschmerz(or whatever it is!)is related to ovulation pain...which I do suffer from sometimes but I don't think she'd be getting that yet.
i am taking her back to the gp on Thurs.but just wondered if anyone else's dd was having/has had the same kind of thing.I think she's been getting this on and off for about a year now but Docs have never really looked into it until now.
