DD has had a constant itch for nearly 4 months, it's driving us both mad and I feel a fobbed off by the Dr

Best thing I found at our dermatological appointment was that I was given lots & lots of small samples to try which was great.

Sorry - I haven't time to read the whole thread, but my dd was terribly allergic to oilatum and anything else that was mineral based, especially baby oil.

I used to have to rinse everything twice more after washing, and no fabric conditioner of any sort, because it dissolves ontot the skin as soon as they start to sweat.

Patch testing/allergy testing is probably the only way to go.

Have you tried an oat bath when she is really itchy. Just get some cheap porridge oats and fill an old sock, tie a knot and pop it in the bath and let the water run over it. You could even try rubbing the wet sock over the itchy parts a little. The creamy stuff that the oats produce are very soothing and calming. Aveeno cream is basically made from oats and is brill. you can get it in various forms and if you find that iot works push the gp to get it for you on prescription.
